Summary
In short: Atten does not collect, store, transmit, sell or share your personal data or your students’ data. Everything you enter stays on your own phone. There is no account, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking, and the Android app does not have permission to access the internet.
This Privacy Policy explains what that means in practice: what the app stores on your device, which phone permissions it asks for and why, how exports and backups work, and how our website handles information.

Who we are
Atten (“Atten”, “the app”) is developed and published by Softisia (“Softisia”, “we”, “us”, “our”), a software development company with offices in Pabna and Rajshahi, Bangladesh and Wyoming, USA. You can learn more about us at www.softisia.com.
This policy applies to the Atten mobile app (Android package com.softisia.atten) and to the Atten website where this policy is published.
Information the app handles
Atten is an attendance register, class routine and marks book. To work, it stores the information you type into it. Depending on whether you use the teacher or the student workspace, this may include:
- Teacher workspace: section and course names, students’ roll numbers and (if you add them) names, whether a student has left, class sessions, attendance statuses (present, absent, late, excused), leave reasons and notes on a student’s attendance, marks and other register columns, your weekly routine and reminder settings.
- Student workspace: your courses, teachers’ names, class schedule, your own check-ins and attendance, and your marks.
- Settings: your name and institution (optional, shown on exported reports), language, theme, date and time formats, attendance-calculation preferences and progress such as achievements you have unlocked.
All of this is stored only on your device. It is never sent to Softisia or to anyone else by the app. We cannot see it, access it, recover it or delete it for you.
Atten does not collect device identifiers, advertising IDs, location, contacts, photos, call logs, browsing history, usage statistics or crash reports.
Information about students
When a teacher uses Atten, the register may contain information about other people: their students. Atten keeps that information on the teacher’s device only, and Softisia never receives it.
Teachers decide what to record (roll numbers alone are enough; names and notes are optional) and are responsible for handling it in line with their institution’s rules and applicable law, for example by recording only what is needed for attendance and assessment, sharing reports only with people entitled to see them, and deleting records that are no longer needed.
Where your data is stored and how it is protected
- Your data is kept in a database inside the app’s private storage on your phone. Android prevents other apps from reading it.
- Atten does not add its own encryption on top of this storage. Your data is protected by your device’s own security, including its screen lock and (on modern phones) built-in storage encryption. We recommend keeping a screen lock enabled.
- The app opts out of Android’s automatic cloud backup (
allowBackup=false), so your Atten data is not copied to Google’s backup service. - If you uninstall Atten, clear its storage, reset your phone or lose your phone, the data on that device is gone. Only a backup you saved yourself can restore it.
Phone permissions
Atten asks only for the permissions it needs for optional class reminders. Reminders are off until you turn them on in Settings, and the rest of the app works without these permissions. You can revoke them at any time in your phone’s settings.

Atten does not request internet, location, contacts, camera, microphone, phone, SMS or storage permissions. Files are opened and saved only through the system file picker and share sheet, when you ask.
Exports, backups and sharing
- Reports (PDF and CSV) are created on your phone when you tap Open, Save or Share in Export. You choose where a report goes (for example a printer, email, WhatsApp or Google Drive). That destination’s own privacy policy then applies. Softisia never receives it.
- Backup creates a single file with the data of the workspace you choose and lets you save or share it. Backup files are not encrypted. Anyone who has the file can read it, so keep it somewhere private.
- Restore reads only the file you pick with your phone’s file picker. Before replacing anything, Atten keeps a safety copy of your current data on the device.
Third-party services and links
The app contains no third-party advertising, analytics, crash-reporting or tracking software development kits (SDKs).
Some buttons open external websites in your browser, for example Support Softisia (our donation page on Support Kori), softisia.com and our Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and LinkedIn pages. Nothing is sent from the app when you open them, but once you are on those sites their own privacy policies apply. Atten is distributed through Google Play, which processes information about your download under its own policies.
Our website
This website is a static site that does not use its own cookies, does not have user accounts, and does not run analytics or advertising trackers.
- Server logs: like any website, our hosting provider may automatically record technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, for security and to keep the site running. These logs are kept for a limited time and are not used to identify you.
- Donation widget: pages include a “Support softisia” button provided by Support Kori (supportkori.com). The widget is loaded from Support Kori’s servers, which receive standard technical information when it loads. If you choose to donate, your payment is handled by Support Kori and its payment partners under their own terms and privacy policy. Softisia does not receive your card or wallet details.
- Theme preference: if you switch between light and dark mode, the choice is saved in your own browser’s local storage so the site remembers it. It is never sent to us, and you can clear it with your browser’s site data.
- Links: links to Google Play and social networks take you to those services, which have their own policies.
Children’s privacy
Atten is intended for teachers and for students old enough to manage their own schedules; it is not directed at children under 13. The app does not collect any personal information, so it does not knowingly collect information from children. Student records a teacher keeps in Atten stay on that teacher’s device (see “Information about students”). If you believe a child has sent us personal information through another channel, contact us and we will delete it.
Your choices and rights
Because your app data never leaves your device, you are in full control of it:
- Access and portability: view everything in the app, export reports, or save a backup.
- Correction: edit any entry directly in the app.
- Deletion: delete individual students, sessions or sections, use Settings → Data → Delete data, or uninstall the app.
- Notifications: turn reminders and permissions on or off at any time.
Depending on where you live (for example under the EU/UK GDPR, the California CCPA/CPRA or Bangladesh’s data-protection rules), you may have rights to access, correct, delete or object to the processing of personal data that a company holds about you. Softisia does not hold app data about you; for any information we may hold through direct contact with us or our website, contact us using the details below and we will respond within 30 days.
Data retention
App data stays on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app. Softisia retains no app data. If you contact us, we keep your message only as long as needed to respond and for reasonable record-keeping.
International users
Atten can be used worldwide. Since the app does not transfer your data anywhere, no international data transfers take place through the app. Website requests may be served from servers in different countries by our hosting provider.
Security
We design Atten to minimise risk: no data collection, no network access in the Android app, no third-party advertising or analytics SDKs, and opted out of cloud backups. No method of storage is 100% secure, so please protect your phone with a screen lock and keep exported reports and backup files private.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy, for example when we add features. We will post the updated version on this page and change the “Effective” date above. If a change materially affects how your information is handled (for example if a future version ever offered optional online features), we will explain it clearly in the app before it applies.
